Bayugan City, Rockwall Establishment Realize

BAYUGAN CITY, Agusan del Sur -- The First in Agusan del Sur and can only be seen in the City of Bayugan.

For many years, since the creation of the village of Mt. Carmel, this is the very first time to have their own source of Rice and can be harvested in their village. This is the great benefit of the newly constructed Rockwall Establishment also known as Rice Terraces.

The said project was inaugurated during the Rockwall Establishment Skills Training for Rice Production Graduation Day last November 12, 20114 at the village of Mt. Carmel.

The City Mayor Kim Lope “Bobong” A. Asis attended the event with the City Agriculture Office and the Provincial Agriculture Office.

By the efforts of the Provincial, City and Barangay Local Government Unit, Department of Agriculture and especially the 33 people from Mt. Carmel, who joined the project to create and materialized the dream of every person in the mountainous area.

“Nakatabang kaayo nig dako sa amo una pagpalambo sa amoang palibot… kinahanglan og accessible nga dalan busa ang atong halandon nga mayor nag-assist jud siya pinaagi sa pagpagraba sa atong mga nakalibaong nga karsada, so, usa na ka benepisyo diin ang mga mag-uuma usab makagamit sa maong kalsada nga ayahay na paingon sa Bayugan nga mapadala ang among produkto nga dili bun-og…” said Barangay Captain Mela P. Ajan of Mt. Carmel.

Mayor Bobong Asis encourages the newly graduates to pursue and strive to maintain the said project and will not easily discourage if there is a problem. And the LGU will continue to support as long as the people will show passion to uplift their lives.

“Dako kaayo nig tabang… ug masulbad ang among kalisod pinaagi ani nga project...” said Mr. Fernando Uba, Batch 1 Leader, “dako kaayo among kalipay nga sa amo mismo gilusad ang proyekto,” he added.

There are 3 batches with 10 days each, to create the Rockwall and the City Government of Bayugan support the project by providing the materials and equipment and incidental expenses as its counterpart for the project.

Mayor Asis: We Value Our Children

“We Value Our Children”

BAYUGAN CITY, Agusan del Sur -- Mayor Kim Lope “Bobong” A. Asis emphasized the importance of the Children in his State of the Children’s Address (SOCA) during the 22nd Children’s Month celebration at the Lope A. Asis Memorial Gymnasium last October 15.

On his SOCA, Mayor Asis happily announced the public about winning the 2nd place for the 2014 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) in the whole Caraga region with only a margin of point against the number one.

Also, the completion of the Children Crisis Intervention Center, which aims to reduce the intensity of a child’s emotional, mental, physical and behavioral reactions to a crisis.

According to Mayor Asis, the LGU of Bayugan always gives its best to support the welfare of the children by giving a Supplemental Feeding to 2,676 day care children at 74 day care centers in 43 barangays.  Through the feeding program, from 923 underweight and severely underweight children it was down to 815 as of this moment.

And because of this, Mayor Asis appreciates the well-defined programs of the City Health Office that contributed in the depreciating number of malnourished children. And the LGU will continue to give a fund of 3 million pesos for the vitamins for the children.

Currently, the administration supported 2,126 families as PhilHealth active members.

“Last August 29th, we spearheaded the launching of Measles Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine - Ligtas Tigdas Mass Immunization for Children wherein the City was ranked 2nd in the entire Caraga Region with a superb 105% immunization rate” he happily said to the audiences.

 

The Alternative Learning System (ALS) helps many of the Out-of-School-Youth receive support and programs established for the street children.

According to the Mayor Asis, the city has 85 so called “Iskolar ng Bayugan” and 34 of them are now on their 3rd year with a fund allocation of 3 million pesos for the school year 2014-2015.

Mayor Bobong Asis also acknowledged the efforts of the Basketball team of Bayugan during the 9th Governor’s Cup 2014 which had no loss record.

Before the State of the Children’s Address ends, the mayor encourages all the sectors in the City to be responsible in the promotion and safeguarding of the children’s rights and development.

“Before this year ends, the Office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod will endorse an ordinance regulating the seating capacity of tricycles and the prohibition on the selling of firecrackers to the children and will enact our City’s Children Code,” announced by the Mayor.

After the State of the Children’s Address, Mayor Bobong Asis received a Certificate of Appreciation from the DILG.

22nd Children's Month gisaulog sa Bayugan City

BAYUGAN CITY, Agusan del Sur -- Isip pagsaulog sa ika-22 nga Children’s Month sa nasud, usa ka programa ang gipahigayon sa Lokal nga Panggamhanan sa syudad sa Bayugan nga gipanguluhan sa City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) didto sa Lope A. Asis Memorial Gymnasium miadtong Oktobre 15.


Gitambongan ang maong kalihokan nila Mayor Kim Lope “Bobong” A. Asis, Vice Mayor Charles P. Anggayong, Local Government Operation’s Officer (LGOO) Madolyn V. Lim, Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) Chairman on Committee on Children, Women, Family ug kasamtangang National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) President Kirk A. Asis ug representante sa DILG – Agusan del Sur Chapter.


Atol sa panghitabo, gipahayag ni Mayor Bobong  Asis ang iyang State of the Children’s Address nga gitambongan sa mga kabatan-onan, empleyado sa gobyerno ug uban pang mga tao nga buot makasaksi sa maong kalihukan.



Gipadayag usab ni SP Chairman on Committee on Children, Women, Family ug NMYL President Kirk A. Asis ang Children’s Rights, diin game na game kini nga gipaapil ang mga kabataan sa iyang speech ug naghatag og pahalipay sa mga misalmot nga bata ug misayaw pa kini kauban ang mga kabataan sa dili pa nahuman ang iyang pulong.

Nagpakita sa ilang mga talento pinaagi sa usa ka intermission number ang mga estudyante gikan sa Bayugan National Comprehensive High School (BNCHS) Naamuhan Dance Troupe ug BNCHS Himig Youth Choir.

Gimugna usab ang usa ka eleksyon para mapili ang mahimong Little City Officials para sa Children’s Day of Governance para sa aktibidad sa sunod nga adlaw (Oktobre 16).

MGen Lactao visits Bayugan City

The newly commander of the Fourth Infantry (Diamond) Division (4th ID) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Major General Oscar T. Lactao visited the City of Bayugan last October 14, 2014.

City Mayor Kim Lope “Bobong” A. Asis, City Vice Mayor Charles P. Anggayong and the 1st Councilor/NMYL President Kirk A. Asis warmly welcomed the arrival of MGen Lactao and his party.

During the courtesy call, MGen Lactao and other AFP high rank officials had a talked with the City officials of Bayugan. And during their talk, Major General Lactao showed interest to know more about the city by asking questions regarding on the peace and order situation of the boundaries and the products produced by the city.

The visit was part of the Major General (MGen) Lactao's activity as the newly commander of the 4ID and as a gesture of goodwill and protocol.

According to MGen Lactao, he wanted a coordination with the Local Officials to create peace.

 “Ako’y nandito bilang bagong commander… para makilala ko at gusto ko maging peaceful ang Bayugan City… para mapanatili ang Peace and Order dito sa Bayugan City, para an gating kababayan ay makapagtrabaho, ang mga bata ay makapasok sa eskwela at an gating mga farmers ay makapagtrabaho sa kabundokan,” added the Major General during the interview.

Before arriving in Bayugan City, the team visited first the towns of the 2nd District of the province of Agusan del Sur using a Helicopter.
